This is a digital, print-at-home sewing pattern for a curve-hugging, figure-flattering 1940s bias-cut slip and panties. A top-stitched inset joins the softly gathered upper front bodice of the bias-cut slip. The upper back is shaped in a V where it meets the skirt and is top-stitched to the bias-cut lower back. The panties (NOT cut on the bias), in semi-traditional tap pants style, are seamed down the center front and back and may button or snap at the left side. The panties hem may be trimmed with lace edging, narrowly hemmed, or finished with double-bias binding. In Style I, the slip is trimmed with lace edging. In Style II, the upper edge may be finished with a bias facing or a double-bias binding. This slip is ideal for wearing under any 1930s and 1940s dresses. It is drafted in close to knee-length but can be shortened or lengthened to match your dress choice. This slip IS cut on the bias. It can be made in lightweight non-stretch fabrics like rayon, silk, and cotton. Rather have a full-size printed paper pattern? Find that here.
