This is a Canadian-built Lee-Enfield rifle no.4 mk1* in very good original condition, built at the Long Branch factory and dated 1942 on the left hand side of the breech.  Also stamped N (broad-arrow) Z, for New Zealand issue, on the butt-socket above the serial number. This example has super original furniture, with the desirable fluted upper handguard and only very minor knocks and bumps you'd expect from a service rifle,  unrestored steel retaining much of the original finish, and Longbranch stamped barrel bands. Fitted with the early production 'battle-sights', brass butt-plate, and detachable 10 round magazine, this rifle cocks, dry-fires and is fully strippable, and comes complete with correct webbing sling. Inert .303 rounds are not included but are available in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 per round, (all extras post free if ordered with the rifle). No4 'spike' bayonets also available from £15.   Deactivated with certificate in the UK to UK specification.   Our price: £375.00   All deactivated weapons sold by Jaybe Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
