Piñata Colors are made with dye-based colorants, which are less lightfast than the typical pigments you would find in an oil paint or artist acrylic—they will fade with prolonged exposure to sunlight. However, Jacquard has selected only the most lightfast dyes for these inks, so the fading is minimalized as much as possible. Piñata inks fade significantly less than competitors’ inks do. Additionally, the Blanco White and Metallic Colours are made with pigments and these are completely lightfast colours that will never fade.
