Powder Blue Lace Flower -Didiscus (Trachymene coerulea) Introduced to North America from Australia in 1828, this gorgeous lavender-blue bloomer has become a mainstay in so many gardens across the continent.
The lavender-blue umbels of this heirloom resemble Queen Anne's lace and other species in the Apiaceae or Umbelliferae family. Its bountiful flowers, wisping stems, and delicate leaf structure make attractive additions to any cottage and cutting flower garden.

Planting Instructions: Direct sow and cover, after all danger of frost has passed. Sow in groups of 3 spaced 15-24 in. apart and thin to the strongest plant after the two-leaf stage. Can be started indoors but plants do not do well if roots are disturbed upon transplanting. If starting indoors, sow seeds in cell packs or 2 inch pots, lightly cover and keep at 15-18° C. Expect germination in 14-25 days.
Growing Information: Plants need regular moisture and full to part sun. Flowers will attract many species of beneficial insects. Wait for 75% of the blooms in a flower head to open for fresh cut flowers. Use a sharp knife, and remove bottom leaves. For dried flowers, hang flower heads in a dry, dark place with low relative humidity. Too much light exposure will cause flowers to brown.
