This little wooden oak-coloured ships wheel probably started life as a barometer, probably from the inter-war or post-war period. A little salt-corroded plaque reads ‘Best Wishes for a Happy Future. The Birchhamites’. We’ve not been able to find out who the Birchamites were, but this had clearly been at sea for a while.
We’ve fitted a new quartz movement and dial, one we thought fitted the overall style of the case.
It has a mild tick and takes one AA battery. Measures 21cm diameter and about 4.5cm deep. Has a simple keyhole style hook for easily mounting on your wall.
