In April, members of the VolunTEEN board gathered to assemble Teen Stress Relief Kits for May Mental Health Awareness Month. These kits are the size of an Altoid tin, perfect for taking on the go! The teens created them with the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique in mind, which utilizes the senses to reduce anxiety. They include mini cards with affirmations & breathing exercises and seven sensory items (a calming essential oil scent disc, breath mints, feather, bell, mini glitter bottle, mini magnet for your photo, and fidget ring.)

Teens, please register to reserve a kit, and we will email you pick-up instructions. While you are in the library this month, we encourage you to visit the Teen Mental Health display in the Teen Room on the 1st floor.
