This is a vintage 8 piece set of solid brass, US military issue, slide, belt buckles for a web belt. They are all the same variety, shape and size measuring approximately 1.5 inches wide by 2 inches in length. They are all marked differently as follows: (1) One is marked US RAU and is badly worn, rusted & verdigris. (2) One is marked just U.S. (3) two are marked solid brass & made in USA. (4) two are marked solid brass only. (5) two are marked made in USA only and one of these looks like metal and not brass. I have been informed by a knowledgeable browser that the “Rau” and the one stamped with initials in a circle are not from the WW2 era. I was also told that the buckles stamped “Solid Brass” were used from WW2-through to the 1960s. So there you have it, confusing I know. These have not been cleaned and some are in not-too-good condition and others are in not-too-bad condition so please check out photos. They are being sold as a set only. Please be sure before purchasing as this item is NOT returnable.
